Jacobs, 42, was sentenced on Tuesday by Superior Court Judge Amy Mead after being found guilty of second-degree murder and several lesser charges, including manslaughter, harassment and two counts of third-degree assault in June of 2022.<\/p>\n<p>The fatal stabbing occurred in May of 2019 when, after threatening multiple people with a knife downtown, Jacobs chased after a couple following a verbal altercation. Jacobs then stabbed one of the individuals, Scott Campbell, multiple times in the hands and abdomen resulting in his death, according to the Juneau Police Department investigation.<\/p>\n<p>In Alaska, second-degree murder carries a maximum possible sentence of 99 years.
