{"id":10108,"date":"2017-11-29T16:07:56","date_gmt":"2017-11-30T00:07:56","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/spijue.wpengine.com\/news\/top-skaters-in-juneau-to-provide-free-show\/"},"modified":"2017-11-29T16:07:56","modified_gmt":"2017-11-30T00:07:56","slug":"top-skaters-in-juneau-to-provide-free-show","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.juneauempire.com\/news\/top-skaters-in-juneau-to-provide-free-show\/","title":{"rendered":"Top skaters in Juneau to provide free show"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Some of the top skaters in the city and state will give people a free look at their skills this weekend.<\/p>\n<p>The Juneau Skating Club is putting on a free showcase this Saturday at Treadwell Arena, including three synchronized skating teams and five soloists who are competing for spots on <a href=\"http:\/\/www.teamalaska.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">Team Alaska<\/a> in the Arctic Winter Games in March.<\/p>\n<p>That showcase, entitled the Winter Exhibition, goes from 1-2 p.m. Immediately afterward, people can get down on the ice alongside the skaters for a free open skate.<\/p>\n<p>The program is partially funded by City and Borough of Juneau sales tax revenue. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.juneauskatingclub.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">The Juneau Skating Club<\/a> is a nonprofit that offers basic skills, figure skating and synchronized skating lessons for people in Juneau.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Some of the top skaters in the city and state will give people a free look at their skills this weekend.
