Holly Helena Huber named Miss Alaska Volunteer<\/strong><\/p>\n Holly Helena Huber of Juneau was named Miss Alaska Volunteer at the Miss Alaska Volunteer Educational Scholarship Program pageant on Oct. 8. She will compete at the Miss Volunteer America Pageant in June. Two other awards were given to winners who will compete at their respective events nationally: Josephine Herbert as Miss Alaska Teen Volunteer and Dominique Henry as Miss Alaska Sweetheart.<\/p>\n Southeast Conference raises more than $60K for UAS scholarships<\/strong><\/p>\n Southeast Conference’s annual scholarship auction on Sept. 19 generated a record $60,200 for the scholarship endowment for the University of Alaska Foundation which supports University of Alaska Southeast students in the coming academic year. Since 2000, Southeast Conference has given nearly $470,000 to the fund.<\/p>\n JPHC flu vaccine clinic Oct. 21<\/strong><\/p>\n The Juneau Public Health Center will sponsor an influenza vaccine clinic from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct. 21 at the Juneau Public Health Center at 3412 Glacier Hwy.<\/p>\n The public clinic will offer influenza vaccine for anyone age 9 years old and up, free of charge. No other vaccines will be available at this clinic.<\/p>\n
