An evening of cabaret music performed by some of Juneau\u2019s best singers and accompanists is soon coming to the Rockwell Ballroom in Juneau.<\/p>\n
Juneau Cabaret provides local singers and accompanists a performance opportunity in a relaxed setting. Vocalists range from students to semi-professionals. Songs include jazz standards, musical theatre songs, and some pop songs.<\/p>\n
Vocalists are Ardyne Womack, Dorothy Kuterbach, Myra Kalbaugh, Lydia Rail, Tom Melville, Jack Brandt, John Haywood, Micheala Moore and Bobbi Mitchell. Accompanists are Sandra Delong, Jacque Farnsworth, Tom Locher, Luke Weld and David Sheakley-Early. Food, beer, wine and cocktails will be available for purchase.<\/p>\n
Juneau Cabaret was formed in August 2009 when a small gathering of singers and accompanists gave their first performance in the local big band\u2019s rehearsal hall (Big Blue) as an invitation-only gathering. Today, Juneau Cabaret has grown to become a local institution that performs six times a year in Rockwell\u2019s upstairs ballroom. Audience members younger than 21 must sit in a specified alcohol-free area or be accompanied by a parent. This is a pay-as-you-can performance. The show is Sunday, Sept. 18 at 7 p.m.<\/p>\n
