I usually have a different point of view than former Senator and Governor Frank Murkowski, but I try to read what he has to say in the Empire. I wholeheartedly agree with his well-written &ldquo;My Turn&rdquo; in the Dec. 27, 2023, Empire on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.juneauempire.com\/opinion\/my-turn-reviving-a-duty-of-service-to-the-country\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">&ldquo;Reviving a duty of service to the country.<\/a>&rdquo; He expressed a lot of good ideas and justification for a mandatory draft. I would like to see it combined with a good short course on citizenship with the aim of making young people better informed and participating citizens of our country.
