{"id":108213,"date":"2024-03-31T21:30:00","date_gmt":"2024-04-01T05:30:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.juneauempire.com\/home\/alwen-carrillo-signs-letter-of-intent-to-play-basketball-for-edmond-college\/"},"modified":"2024-04-02T08:16:02","modified_gmt":"2024-04-02T16:16:02","slug":"alwen-carrillo-signs-letter-of-intent-to-play-basketball-for-edmond-college","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.juneauempire.com\/sports\/alwen-carrillo-signs-letter-of-intent-to-play-basketball-for-edmond-college\/","title":{"rendered":"Alwen Carrillo signs letter of intent to play basketball for Edmond College"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Alwen Carrillo, an all-state senior guard for Juneau-Douglas High School: Yadaa.at Kal&#233;, signed a national letter of intent Monday to play college basketball for Edmond College in Lynnwood, Washington.<\/p>\n<p>The signing ceremony took place in the George Houston Gymnasium at JDHS among Carrillo&rsquo;s family, friends, teammates, coaches and other school officials.<\/p>\n<p>Carrillo was voted to the third team in the 4A division of the Alaska Association of Basketball Coaches All-State Basketball Team, the only JDHS player to make that team this year. The 5&rsquo;10&rdquo; guard has also won numerous other honors, including being named to this year&rsquo;s Region V all-conference team last month.<\/p>\n<p>He averaged 16.2 points, 5.2 assists, 4.3 rebounds and 3.0 turnovers a game in 28 games during his senior season.
