1949 \u2014 Joe Fulks of Philadelphia scores 63 points in a 108-87 win over Indianapolis to set an NBA scoring record which would last for nearly a decade.<\/strong><\/p>\n

1952 \u2014 The Baltimore Bullets play the 48-minute game without making a single substitution and beat the Fort Wayne Pistons 82-77.<\/strong><\/p>\n

1962 \u2014 Jim Beatty becomes the first American to break the 4-minute mile indoors with a 3:58.9 in Los Angeles.<\/strong><\/p>\n

1968 \u2014 Peggy Fleming wins the women\u2019s Olympic figure skating gold medal in Grenoble, France.<\/strong><\/p>\n

1969 \u2014 LSU\u2019s Pete Maravich scores 66 points in a 110-94 loss to Tulane.<\/strong><\/p>\n

1992 \u2014 Bonnie Blair becomes the first woman to successfully defend an Olympic gold medal in 500-meter speed skating and the first American woman in any sport to win gold medals in consecutive Olympics.<\/strong><\/p>\n

1998 \u2014 Picabo Street, Alpine skiing\u2019s comeback kid, overcomes a mistake about midway through her run and charges to an Olympic gold by one-hundredth of a second in the women\u2019s super-G \u2014 the games\u2019 first Alpine medal after three days of snow-related postponements.<\/strong><\/p>\n

2002 \u2014 Kobe Bryant of the Los Angeles Lakers scores 31 points \u2014 the most in an NBA All-Star game since 1988 \u2014 to lead the Western Conference to a 135-120 win over the East.<\/strong><\/p>\n

2003 \u2014 Detroit\u2019s Brett Hull becomes the sixth NHL player to score 700 regular-season goals. Hull beats San Jose\u2019s Evgeni Nabokov with a wrist shot in a 5-4 win over the Sharks.<\/strong><\/p>\n

2007 \u2014 San Diego\u2019s Nate Kaeding kicks a 21-yard field goal as time expires to cap another strong drive led by MVP Carson Palmer in the AFC\u2019s 31-28 victory over the NFC in the Pro Bowl.<\/strong><\/p>\n

2007 \u2014 Jaromir Jagr has three assists in the New York Rangers\u2019 5-2 win over Washington and becomes the 12th player in NHL history to score 1,500 points.<\/strong><\/p>\n

2008 \u2014 Terrell Owens catches two touchdowns passes, including a 6-yarder from Tampa Bay\u2019s Jeff Garcia for the winning points in the NFC\u2019s comeback 42-30 victory over the AFC in the Pro Bowl. Adrian Peterson of Minnesota rushes for 129 yards and scores twice as the NFC rallies from a 24-7 deficit, earning himself MVP honors.<\/strong><\/p>\n

2008 \u2014 Susanna Kallur breaks the 18-year-old world record in the women\u2019s 60-meter indoor hurdles, finishing in 7.68 seconds to lower the mark by 0.01 seconds at the Karlsruhe (Germany) International. Kallur breaks the record set Feb. 4, 1990, by Russia\u2019s Ludmila Narozhilenko \u2014 who later changed her name to Ludmila Engquist.<\/strong><\/p>\n

2010 \u2014 Tomas Plekanec scores his second goal of the game in overtime and the Montreal Canadiens end Washington\u2019s team-record winning streak at 14 games with a 6-5 victory.<\/strong><\/p>\n

2013 \u2014 Ninth-ranked Syracuse beat St. John\u2019s 77-58 for its 37th straight win in the Carrier Dome, extending the nation\u2019s longest active home streak in Division I.
