Hale\u2019s \u201cOn Writing\u201d got first place in the Suzan Nightingale Award for Best Columnist category among small papers. \u201cJim Hale\u2019s columns on writing offer a fascinating and philosophical glimpse into the writer\u2019s world and the world of writing,\u201d the judge wrote. Dick Callahan won first place among small and large publications (a combined category) for best sports or outdoors column. \u201cYou\u2019re a fantastic storyteller,\u201d the judge wrote. \u201cI particularly enjoyed the column on sharpening knives for fish season. Great work!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>We\u2019re so proud of Dick and Jim!
