The windows are papered. The outdoor seating area has been dismantled. After 11 seasons, Tracy\u2019s King Cab Shack is officially closed \u2014 at least in its S. Franklin Street location.<\/p>\n<p>The crab shack announced its closure \u2014 which came \u201ca bit early due to unforeseen circumstances\u201d \u2014 on its Facebook page during the weekend. By early this week, just two signs remained, the only evidence the business had ever occupied its former location.<\/p>\n<p>Tracy LaBarge, owner and name sake of the crab shack, declined to comment on the closure except to say that she\u2019s working on her new location for next year, which she hasn\u2019t disclosed.<\/p>\n<p>Michael J. Tripp, majority stakeholder in the company that owns the crab shack\u2019s former building, could not be reached for comment by press time Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p>News that Tracy\u2019s King Crab Shack\u2019s lease wasn\u2019t being renewed for the coming year began circulating early last month when KTOO reported that LaBarge\u2019s business was moving.<\/p>\n<p>Tripp hasn\u2019t yet said who will be renting the crab shack\u2019s former location next season.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Contact reporter Sam DeGrave at 523-2279 or sam.degrave@juneauempire.com.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The signs are gone.
