Capital City Fire\/Rescue took the pedestrian to Bartlett Regional Hospital, and a police department statement indicated she was in stable condition.<\/p>\n<p>According to JPD\u2019s account of events, a 53-year-old driver was southbound on Main Street and preparing to turn into the Sealaska Center parking lot.<\/p>\n<p>At the same time, a 56-year-old woman was crossing the street outside a crosswalk and stood near a concrete road divider.<\/p>\n<p>The driver turned his car and didn\u2019t see her. The impact knocked the woman to the ground, and the man immediately stopped to render aid.<\/p>\n<p>Alcohol is not believed to be a factor in the accident, JPD said.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A downtown pedestrian was struck by a car Dec. 30.
