{"id":13278,"date":"2017-02-28T22:09:38","date_gmt":"2017-03-01T06:09:38","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/spijue.wpengine.com\/news\/woman-dies-man-injured-in-home-fire-near-butte\/"},"modified":"2017-02-28T22:09:38","modified_gmt":"2017-03-01T06:09:38","slug":"woman-dies-man-injured-in-home-fire-near-butte","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.juneauempire.com\/news\/woman-dies-man-injured-in-home-fire-near-butte\/","title":{"rendered":"Woman dies, man injured in home fire near Butte"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>ANCHORAGE &mdash;<\/strong> The state fire marshal is investigating a home fire near Butte that killed a woman.<\/p>\n<p>Her name has not been released but troopers Monday identified a man injured in the fire as 55-year-0ld Charles Wocell of Palmer.<\/p>\n<p>Troopers and the Mat-Su Fire Department just before 1 p.m. Sunday were dispatched to South Knik River Road in response to a home reported burning with a woman inside.<\/p>\n<p>Wocell and the woman had been sleeping inside.<\/p>\n<p>Troopers said Wocell tried to get the woman out, then flagged down a driver who called 911.<\/p>\n<p>Troopers said Wocell ran back inside in the burning home and again tried to rescue the woman.
