{"id":13401,"date":"2016-05-11T08:02:31","date_gmt":"2016-05-11T15:02:31","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/spijue.wpengine.com\/news\/uas-tech-prep-films-win-telly-award\/"},"modified":"2016-05-11T08:02:31","modified_gmt":"2016-05-11T15:02:31","slug":"uas-tech-prep-films-win-telly-award","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.juneauempire.com\/life\/uas-tech-prep-films-win-telly-award\/","title":{"rendered":"UAS Tech Prep films win Telly award"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>JUNEAU \u2014 <\/strong>Juneau-based G-Force Productions Digital Cinema has been named a winner at the 27th annual Telly Awards for their series \u201cUAS Tech Prep.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Competiting with more than 13,000 entries from the U.S. and other countries at the Telly Awards, \u201cUAS Tech Prep\u201dwon in category \u201cOnline video series &amp; campaign \u2014 promotional.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The three films that make up \u201cUAS Tech Prep\u201d featured UAS students, teachers and officials from Juneau, Ketchikan and Sitka as well as high school students in Ketchikan, Sitka and Wrangell, and state officials such as Rep. Cathy Mu\u00f1oz, R-Juneau, and Gov. Bill Walker.<\/p>\n<p>The Telly Awards were founded in 1979 and are the premier award honoring outstanding local, regional and cable TV commercials and programs, the finest video and film productions, online commericals, videos and films.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Telly Awards has a mission to honor the very best in film and video,\u201d said Executive Director Linda Day. \u201cG-Force Production\u2019s accomplishment illustrates their creativity, skill and dedication to their craft and serces as a testament to great film and video production.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOne of th ebiggest reasons this series won an award was the amazing people at UAS,\u201d said Gabe Strong, the owner and opeator of G-Force Production who filmed and edited the series. \u201cFrom the very beginning, Kim Szczatko, Peter Traxler and the Tech Prep department had a ver strong vision about how they wanted the films to look. Juneau and the rest of Southeast Alaska should be proud to have such a great university with fantastic, talented people right here in Southeast Alaska. And the high school students in Wrangell deserve a special shout out.
