A Juneau grand jury indicted a woman whom police saw \u201cshooting up\u201d narcotics at a high school parking lot, according to prosecutors.<\/p>\n
Chelsea M. Massin, 35, was charged Friday with misconduct involving a controlled substance in the fourth degree, a class C felony, for the alleged offense.<\/p>\n
Juneau District Attorney James Scott said the charge is actually only tied to marijuana that a Juneau Police Department officer also found on scene at the Thunder Mountain High School parking lot on May 2.<\/p>\n
\u201c(Marijuana was) the only drug seized in … enough amount to test,\u201d Juneau District Attorney James Scott said, explaining why his office did not pursue more narcotics charges.<\/p>\n
Massin was not arrested at the time, but she was issued a court summons Friday. A court date has not yet been scheduled.<\/p>\n
DA Scott said that if Massin is convicted, his office will request substance abuse treatment for her rather than jail time. Fourth-degree drug misconduct carries between zero to two years in jail for first time offenders. Massin does not have a prior criminal record in Alaska, online court records show.<\/p>\n

Second indictment<\/strong><\/p>\n Allessandro Hill Jr., 36, also faces felony charges after the same grand jury indicted him for two counts of theft and one count of weapons misconduct.<\/p>\n Hill allegedly stole two handguns, a .357 Smith and Wesson and a .22\/45 Ruger, from his roommate on June 5, according to a police complaint. Both weapons were eventually returned to the owner.<\/p>\n The two theft charges are class C felonies, as is the weapons misconduct charge, which comes from Hill possessing a weapon as a felon.<\/p>\n Hill was convicted for a felony failure to stop at the direction of a peace officer on Oct. 17, 2007.<\/p>\n The three charges Hill currently faces are punishable by up to five years in prison and a $50,000 fine.<\/p>\n \u2022 Contact reporter Paula Ann Solis at 523-2272 or paula.solis@juneauempire.com.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" A Juneau grand jury indicted a woman whom police saw \u201cshooting up\u201d narcotics at a high school parking lot, according to prosecutors.
