The City and Borough of Juneau Assembly has extended the time frame for its search for a new city manager. <\/p>\n
After reviewing all 33 applications received, \u201cthe Assembly has opted to extend the recruitment period with the goal of making a selection by the end of February,\u201d a CBJ news release states. The Assembly will review the next round of applicants early next year.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe Assembly wants a strong, collaborative leader who understands the very real challenges facing our community,\u201d Mayor Greg Fisk said in a prepared statement. \u201cWe want to make sure that we have a robust pool of candidates for the final phase of the selection process.\u201d <\/p>\n
The city will expand its \u201cadvertising and outreach efforts,\u201d which were originally limited to newspaper ads in Juneau, Anchorage and Fairbanks, and postings on \u201crelevant job boards.\u201d <\/p>\n
City Manager Kim Kiefer, who was originally slated to retire by the end of the year, will stay on until April 30, 2016.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
