She is coming to Juneau from Santa Fe, New Mexico, where she is the assistant principal of El Camino Real Academy, a prekindergarten through 8th grade school. Dillingham is no stranger to Juneau. She taught in Juneau and served as the Academic Policy Committee president for the Juneau Community Charter School. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cI am honored to have been asked to be the principal of Mendenhall River Community School,\u201d Dillingham said in a prepared statement. \u201cI am excited to begin working with families, students and staff.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The school district chose Dillingham after interviewing five applicants on Friday at the school. The school\u2019s current principal, Kathryn Milliron, is retiring at the end of the year.<\/p>\n<p>Dillingham holds masters degrees in educational leadership and teaching from the University of Alaska Southeast.
