Tracy\u2019s King Crab Shack has a new location \u2014 about 100 feet down South Franklin Street from where it used to be located.<\/p>\n
The crab shack will be located in the People\u2019s Wharf building, near the bus staging lot by the Mount Roberts Tram. It will serve the same crab and bisque that it\u2019s know for, but the vibe will be slightly different, according to the business\u2019 owner and namesake Tracy LaBarge.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s going to be the Crab Shack Express,\u201d she told the Empire over the phone Wednesday afternoon. \u201cIt\u2019s kind of different from what I normally do. We\u2019re opening it up caf\u00e9 style.\u201d<\/p>\n
LaBarge said that the new location will be more like the original crab shack, which was located near the food trucks and the downtown library. The original crab shack later became Randy\u2019s Rib Shack.<\/p>\n
Though People\u2019s Wharf will house the latest incarnation of Tracy\u2019s King Crab Shack, it won\u2019t be the last. LaBarge said she is currently looking for a larger space to establish another crab shack location. She hasn\u2019t yet said where that might go.<\/p>\n
Reecia Wilson, owner of Twisted Fish and The Hangar, will be taking over LaBarge\u2019s former Crab Shack location. According to a recent liquor license public notice, the name of the business will be Pier 49 Seafood Station.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
