{"id":15768,"date":"2016-11-04T08:04:56","date_gmt":"2016-11-04T15:04:56","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/spijue.wpengine.com\/news\/body-of-missing-pilot-found-with-plane-wreckage\/"},"modified":"2016-11-04T08:04:56","modified_gmt":"2016-11-04T15:04:56","slug":"body-of-missing-pilot-found-with-plane-wreckage","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.juneauempire.com\/news\/body-of-missing-pilot-found-with-plane-wreckage\/","title":{"rendered":"Body of missing pilot found with plane wreckage"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>ANCHORAGE \u2014 The body of a pilot who went missing last week has been found with the wreckage of his crashed plane in the Alaska Range.<\/p>\n<p>The Alaska National Guard said the wreckage was spotted by the Civil Air Patrol southwest of Merrill Pass shortly after sunrise Thursday during an aerial search.<\/p>\n<p>The body of 55-year-old Anchorage pilot David McRae also was recovered from the scene and turned over to the state medical examiner.<\/p>\n<p>McRae has been missing since he left Anchorage last Friday for Lake Clark.
