Cathy Mu\u00f1oz and her Democratic challenger in House District 34, Justin Parish.<\/p>\n<p>Rep. Sam Kito III, the Democrat who represents downtown Juneau in House District 33, will also appear, but he faces no challenger in the general election.<\/p>\n<p>The debate moderators, James Brooks of the Empire and Matt Miller of KTOO, will ask the candidates a series of questions before opening the discussion to questions from the audience.<\/p>\n<p>The debate is scheduled to last one hour, and proceedings will be recorded for later broadcast.<\/p>\n<p>The event is free to attend, and everyone is encouraged to attend.<\/p>\n<p>Early voting opens Oct. 24, and Election Day is Nov. 8.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Juneau\u2019s candidates for statehouse will face each other on the stage tonight at the University of Alaska Southeast in a debate hosted by KTOO-FM, Juneau Votes and the Juneau Empire.
