Downtown businesses will welcome shoppers from 8 a.m.-noon on Friday, Nov. 25, to kick off the holiday shopping season with free donuts and special promotions.<\/p>\n
Shoppers can look for the \u201cDonuts & Deals\u201d flier on the door of participating businesses, which include:<\/p>\n
\u2022 On Front Street, Alaska Robotics, Annie Kaill\u2019s, Juneau Drug Co. and Sealaska Heritage Institute.<\/p>\n
\u2022 On Franklin Street, the Alaskan Bewing Co. Depot, Hickok Trading Post, Juneau Imagination Station, Kindred Post and Trove. And in the Senate Building, Bustin\u2019 Out Boutique, Fiddleheads & Ferns, Seaside Yarns and The Bear\u2019s Lair.<\/p>\n
\u2022 On Seward Street, Rainy Retreat Books, Shoefly, Downtown Dames and Heritage Coffee.<\/p>\n
Silverbow Inn on Second Street and Glacier Salt Cave in the Willoughby District.<\/p>\n
\u2018Donuts & Deals\u2019 marks only the start of holiday events at Juneau\u2019s downtown businesses. On Nov. 26, there is Small Business Saturday.<\/p>\n
Gallery Walk runs from 4-9 p.m. Friday, Dec. 2, with stores open late, a Front Street street party with holiday music and activities by DJ Manu, Santa photos at the Senate Building and Baranof from 4-8 p.m. and a Holiday Sweater Walk and Group Photo with a grand prize drawing at 8 p.m.<\/p>\n
To participate in the holiday sweater contest, go to any participating business and fill out a ticket and put in the giant present box at DJ Manu\u2019s booth on Front Street. Every store you visit gives you another chance to win.<\/p>\n
On Dec. 9, is \u201cGirlfriends & Gifts\u201d from 4-8 p.m. This event is an After Dark Shopping Night highlighting local, fun and easy gift ideas.<\/p>\n
On Dec. 17, participating downtown shops will offer free gift wrapping until 8 p.m. as part of \u201cWrap it Up, Juneau\u201d and the kickoff to \u201cA Gift in Hand is Worth Two in the Mail\u201d which runs until Dec. 24. In the final week before Christmas, shops will offer gift registries and extended shopping hours.<\/p>\n
