Behind Pusich, junior Cassie Dzinich and sophomore Alyxn Bohulano each added eight, with Kendyl Carson and Georgia Robinson both contributing six.

West Valley was led in defeat by Ellen Silva with 13 and Gillian Winkleman with 10.

Pusich started hot and never cooled down, helping the Crimson Bears to a 14-8 first-quarter lead with three field goals and a 3-pointer. Her 13 points at half helped JDHS to a 25-17 lead going into the locker room.

West Valley’s zone defense led to three consecutive defensive stops in the third period, with an Erica Yarde 3-pointer and a field goal pulling the game to 25-22.

JDHS took a timeout to regroup and dominated the rest of the game, outscoring West Valley 20-6 in the final period to close the game with a 53-34 lead.
