a JPD release<\/a>. A grand jury indicted each of them on one count of second-degree murder for the 1995 killing of Jerry Dillivan in Anchorage.<\/p>\nPrice and Willard are set to be arraigned at 1:45 p.m. Thursday, according to an online court calendar. The arraignment will take place in Anchorage, and Price and Willard will attend via telephone from Juneau. Both defendants face a potential sentence of up to 99 years in prison for the alleged crime.<\/p>\n
The arrests come 22 years after 25-year-old Dillivan was found dead at a gas station in Anchorage, apparently beaten to death. The Anchorage Police Department received a call at 7:22 a.m. on Nov. 21, 1995 from the Texaco station on Muldoon Road in Anchorage. The caller reported that she came to work and found a man dead behind the gas station, and APD identified Dillivan when they arrived.<\/p>\n
The case went cold for many years, according to the release, but a Crime Stoppers tip and subsequent DNA match helped investigators make progress in the case.<\/p>\n
According to the JPD release, APD requested assistance in arresting the two men Wednesday. At about 4:33 p.m. Wednesday, JPD arrested Willard at a residence in the 1000 block of Capital Avenue. At about 7:03 p.m., JPD located and arrested Price during a traffic stop that took place on Glacier Highway near Channel Vista.<\/p>\n
Price and Willard are currently being held at Lemon Creek Correctional Center. Bail for both of them was set at $500,000.<\/p>\n
