The Juneau School District reached a tentative three-year contract agreement with the principals and administrator\u2019s union Friday.<\/p>\n
The district and the Juneau School Administrative Association have been involved in negotiations for a successor contract since March. The current contract expires June 30, 2016. With about 20 members, the JSAA bargaining unit represents the principals, assistant principals, and district-level coordinators and specialists.<\/p>\n
The tentative agreement will be submitted to JSAA\u2019s membership for ratification, and then go to the Board of Education for ratification. Terms of the tentative agreement are currently being finalized for publication and will be available to the public following ratification.<\/p>\n
Both parties are satisfied with the proposed agreement. In a press release from the district, JSAA spokesperson Kristy Germain said, \u201cWe have appreciated this opportunity to continue to work with Juneau School District for the support and education of our Juneau students and look forward to continued positive working relationship with the District.\u201d<\/p>\n
