New city Assembly members included Clarke Young, Caren Robinson and Jamie Parsons. New school board members included incumbent Kris Gray, David Crosby and Julie Ward. The 4 percent sales tax which was introduced and pushed by the city Assembly failed, drawing concern from sitting members. <\/p>\n<p>In other news, 500 U.S. Navy personnel from the USS Merrill and the USS Thach planned to arrive in Juneau over the weekend.
