The woman managed to keep her bag.<\/p>\n<p>She used a cellphone to call for help.<\/p>\n<p>A friend drove her to the military base gate, where she was met by medics and police. She was treated for the stab wound at an Anchorage hospital and released.<\/p>\n<p>The woman describes the suspect as a black man of average height and build.
