The sale ended a two-year debate regarding the ownership of the building after a Juneau Superior Court judge blocked a request to block the sale from the Southeast Alaska Community Action Program. In May, the same Seattle developer had bid $3.74 million for the same building before withdrawing when a new appraisal showed a reduced value for the building. Though the developer had not chosen what to do with the building, he was open to including low-income housing in his plan.<\/p>\n<p>The City and Borough of Juneau Assembly was considering adding $200,000 to its annual budget to form an economic development council suggested by the Juneau Chamber of Commerce.
