Although he called the advertisement \u201cembarrassing,\u201d Brooks says he will let his 78-year-old father go forward with the interviews.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhat am I supposed to do? He already did it,\u201d said Brooks, the owner of two health food stores.<\/p>\n<p>His father, Arthur Brooks of Beverly Hills, California, said Monday that he wouldn\u2019t answer questions until after the interviews Saturday.<\/p>\n<p>The ad lists criteria such as shorter height and conservative political views.<\/p>\n<p>Brooks says his father recently vacationed in Coeur d\u2019Alene and may have placed the ad because of the area\u2019s conservative politics.<\/p>\n<p>He said his father has been ill and wants a grandson to carry on the family name.<\/p>\n<p>Brooks compared his father to Larry David\u2019s character in the TV series \u201cCurb Your Enthusiasm,\u201d saying he \u201cthinks he does the right thing, and then it all blows up in his face.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He said he\u2019d never buy an ad like this himself, but \u201cit\u2019s worth a shot.
