He was 56 years old.<\/p>\n<p>John attended Hoonah Elementary and Juneau-Douglas High School. He worked construction and was a member of the Local Labor Union 652 in both California and Washington. He was also an avid mechanic and worked numerous day labor jobs.<\/p>\n<p>He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Eli and Jennie Hanlon, Amy and Harry Marvin and Sam Knudson Sr.; also, his parents, James and Beatrice Knudson; siblings, Lenora Strienise, Eldred and Stuart Knudson.<\/p>\n<p>He is survived by brother, James Knudson; sisters, Jennie and Amy Knudson.<\/p>\n<p>A memorial service will take place at 6 p.m. on Oct. 4 at the Juneau Tlingit and Haida Community Center. A celebration of life will be held at 5 p.m. on Oct. 1, at 5 p.m. at the Juneau Glory Hole.
