Every year more than 6,000 people turn the Kenai Peninsula village of Ninilchik into a city during Salmonfest. The three-day weekend features some of Alaska\u2019s top food, crafts, art and brews available available throughout the grounds and a family friendly atmosphere, including a daily children\u2019s program, is part of the four stage extravaganza that includes over 50 acts.<\/p>\n

This year\u2019s Salmonfest will run Aug. 5-7 and will feature such groups as the Grammy-winning Indigo Girls, Trampled by Turtles, The Brothers Comatose, Young Dubliners and Dead Winter Carpenters. The full lineup can be found at www.salmonfestalaska.org.<\/p>\n

Salmonfest is supported by and benefits The Kachemak Bay Conservation Society with support from Cook Inletkeeper.
