With the bases loaded in the bottom of the ninth inning Wednesday night in Anchorage, Alex Muir took ball four.<\/p>\n
And just like that, it was game over.<\/p>\n
Juneau Post 25 continued their remarkable season (17-1 league, 22-2 overall) Wednesday night against South Post 4 at the American Legion State Baseball Tournament. Muir’s walk ushered in Finn Collins from third base, giving Juneau the 8-7 victory. Juneau plays Service Post 28 in the semifinals Thursday night.<\/p>\n
Juneau Post 25 defeated Kenai Post 20 on Tuesday in the first round of the tournament.<\/p>\n
South Post 4 fell behind early in Wednesday’s night game, but found their footing in the sixth inning, when they tied the game at 3-3.<\/p>\n
Cody Leslie, Derek McGinnis and Anthony Maldonado all singled in the seventh, and South took a 6-3 lead.<\/p>\n
Donavin McCurley and Kasey Watts scored in bottom of the seventh to bring Juneau within one run.<\/p>\n
Collins stranded three runners in the eight inning, setting up Zeb Storie’s go-ahead, 2 RBI double in the bottom half of the inning.<\/p>\n
South would tie the game in the top of the ninth, but Juneau won the game after drawing four consecutive walks with no outs.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
