Every principal in Alaska nominates one graduating senior who has excelled in school and in the community for the scholarship, and the APF Board of Directors selects the winners.<\/p>\n<p>Since the program began in 1985, BP Alaska has awarded more than $3.8 million to 850 Alaska students.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Juneau graduate earns academic honors at college<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Emme MacDonald, a graduate of Juneau-Douglas High School, made the dean&rsquo;s list this semester at the University of New England, the university announced this week.<\/p>\n<p>Being on that list means that MacDonald earned a GPA of more than 3.3 out of a possible 4.0 during the spring semester. MacDonald is listed on the university&rsquo;s <a href=\"https:\/\/athletics.une.edu\/roster.aspx?path=wrugby\" target=\"_blank\">rugby roster<\/a> as well.
