The event, which begins at 7 p.m., will celebrate the organization\u2019s five years of monthly poetry slams and open mic events in the community. <\/p>\n<p> The&nbsp;Grand&nbsp;Poetry&nbsp;Slam&nbsp;will include a&nbsp;slam&nbsp;competition featuring winners from the past season. The poets will perform original work and are judged by members of the community. The winning poet will receive $50 and the 2015&nbsp;Grand&nbsp;Slam&nbsp;Award. Competing in the&nbsp;slam are Erika Bergren, Fysh Houck, David Parish, Maureen Longworth, Christina Apathy, and Mike Christenson. <\/span><span><\/p>\n<p> <\/span><span>The event will also include opening performances by Dee Jay DeRego, Christy NaMee Eriksen, Amy Pinney, Caroline Garcia, and Ziggy Unzicker.<\/span><span><\/p>\n<p> <\/span><span>The show will be hosted by Conor Lendrum and Annie Bartholomew, with the Woosh Kinaadeiy\u00ed House Band.&nbsp; The event is pay as you can, with a suggested donation of $5-10. <\/span><span><\/p>\n<p> <\/span><span>The event is the organization\u2019s biggest fundraiser of the year.
