United Way of Southeast Alaska recently welcomed Kendri M. M. Cesar, a graduate of Dartmouth College and Harvard Law School, to the organization\u2019s board.<\/p>\n
Cesar is an associate attorney with the firm of Sonosky, Chambers, Sachse, Miller & Munson, LLP. Her area of practice is to advise American Indian and Alaska Native tribes, Alaska Native corporations and Native health organizations in matters including hospital management, health care services delivery, state and federal regulatory compliance and taxation, government contracting and tribal-federal-state jurisdiction.<\/p>\n
Chair Rustan Burton welcomed Cesar to the board noting Cesar is a leader in the community and will be a valuable addition to the United Way board.<\/p>\n
Burton noted that since 1974, United Way of Southeast Alaska has worked to \u201cadvance the common good\u201d by recruiting people and organizations throughout the region to identify community issues, focus a response and effect change.<\/p>\n
With its recent \u201cLive United\u201d movement\u2014based on the idea that extending a hand to one improves society for all\u2014the United Way outlines a strategy for those wishing to take part in Southeast Alaska\u2019s philanthropic process: \u201cGive, Advocate, Volunteer.\u201d<\/p>\n
