Girls on the Run and Boys Run are empowerment programs for 3rd-8th graders. Kids participate in running games that teach life lessons about identifying values, working together and giving back to the community.<\/p>\n<p>Coaches don\u2019t need to be runners but only need to be positive role models willing work with students for one-and-a-half-hour lessons one or two times a week after school. A full-day training prepares coaches with everything they need to facilitate the curriculum and direct a team of students. Boys Run coach training will take place Aug. 27; Girls on the Run coach training will be Aug. 28.<\/p>\n<p>The seasons start in mid-September and ends with a celebratory 5k event on Dec. 10.
