{"id":22231,"date":"2016-03-26T03:32:14","date_gmt":"2016-03-26T10:32:14","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/spijue.wpengine.com\/news\/eaglecrest-closes-for-the-season\/"},"modified":"2016-03-26T03:32:14","modified_gmt":"2016-03-26T10:32:14","slug":"eaglecrest-closes-for-the-season","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.juneauempire.com\/news\/eaglecrest-closes-for-the-season\/","title":{"rendered":"Eaglecrest closes for the season"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Eaglecrest Ski Area is closed for the season.<\/p>\n<p>Eaglecrest officials decided to pull the plug since mountain conditions aren\u2019t good and they\u2019re not getting any better as the weather gets warmer, they said in a press release Friday.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have made the difficult decision to not open the mountain this weekend and will officially close Eaglecrest for the 2015-2016 Season,\u201d Eaglecrest Director Matt Lillard said in the release.<\/p>\n<p>He added, \u201cI would like to thank the Juneau skiing and riding community and the Eaglecrest staff for a great season. We are looking forward to next winter.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The ski area\u2019s administrative offices will be open Thursday through Monday until April 10, when they will close for good.
