A convicted sex offender\u2019s attempt to declare himself a \u201csovereign citizen\u201d immune from prosecution has been thrown out by the Alaska Court of Appeals.<\/p>\n
Eugene John Bourdon, the man behind the case, has an extensive history of sexual assault, including against children. In 1986, he was convicted of attempted sexual assault after trying to grab two girls walking home from a Sitka middle school.<\/p>\n
In 2000, Bourdon was convicted of four counts of second-degree sexual abuse of a minor. After his release from prison, he was convicted of \u201copen lewdness\u201d<\/a> in 2011 for following two girls around Walmart, taking their pictures and masturbating in one of the store\u2019s aisles. Three years later, he was found following children around Fred Meyer and taking their pictures.<\/p>\n
