Bill Walker in his attempt to veto $6.3 million in state education spending.<\/p>\n<p>In an analysis of Walker\u2019s vetoes, published this week on the division\u2019s website, director David Teal wrote that the veto \u201cdid not reduce total spending.\u201d Instead, it simply changed the account the money is coming from.<\/p>\n<p>The incorrect veto was first reported by the Alaska Dispatch News.<\/p>\n<p>Pat Pitney, director of the state Office of Management and Budget, told ADN reporter Tegan Hanlon that attorneys from the Alaska Department of Law will weigh in, and that she believes the governor\u2019s intent to cut funding means the veto will stand.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The head of the Legislative Finance Division has called out a mistake by Gov.
