Juneau police are asking the public to help locate a red pickup truck and its driver, who is suspected of being involved in a hit-and-run in the Fred Meyer parking lot.<\/p>\n
In a \u201cCrime of the Week\u201d news release, Juneau Police Department Lt. Kris Sell said two people were inside a white Toyota Camry when it was struck by the mid-size red truck at about 4:18 p.m. Tuesday.<\/p>\n
No one was injured, Sell said.<\/p>\n
The red truck should be easy to identify if seen \u2014 it was heavily damaged in the crash.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe impact of the red pickup hitting a white passenger car was so great that the red pickup bent in the middle behind the cab area,\u201d Sell wrote in the Thursday release. \u201cThat part of the frame almost touched the ground. The headlights and taillights of the red pickup were pointing upward after the collision as the suspect vehicle was in a \u2018V\u2019 shape following the impact.\u201d<\/p>\n
Police said the truck fled the scene, but it was caught on the store\u2019s surveillance cameras. Police released images of the truck, as seen before the crash, in the press release Thursday. The pictures are blurry, and the security cameras did not capture the truck\u2019s make, model or license plate number.<\/p>\n
