Set in America, Israel, and Palestine, \u201cWrestling Jerusalem,\u201d coming to Juneau March 3-6, follows one man\u2019s journey to understand the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Actor Aaron Davidman\u2019s solo performance is a personal story that grapples with the complexities of identity, history, and social justice. While giving voice to over a dozen different characters, the play sheds light on one of the most entrenched conflicts of our time.<\/p>\n

Aaron Davidman, who both wrote the play and is its solo performer, is a playwright, actor, director and producer. He is drawn to stories of ethnic history and cultural complexity that challenge our assumptions of the \u201cother.\u201d Aaron served as Artistic Director of Traveling Jewish Theatre from 2002-2011. Among many works at TJT he conceived, co-wrote and directed the international collaboration \u201cBlood Relative\u201d about the Israeli- Palestinian story, co-wrote and performed in \u201cGod\u2019s Donkey,\u201d originated the role of Momik Neuman in \u201cSee Under: Love,\u201d based on the David Grossman novel, and directed \u201cDeath of a Salesman.\u201d Outside of TJT Aaron\u2019s work includes directing the world premiere of \u201cThis World in a Woman\u2019s Hands\u201d by Marcus Gardley and the world premiere of Gardley\u2019s \u201cLove is a Dream House in Lorin,\u201d both at Shotgun Players, and the world premiere of Gardley\u2019s \u201cThe Road Weeps, The Well Runs Dry\u201d at Perseverance Theatre in Juneau, Alaska. The play runs March 3 \u2013 6 at the JACC. Thursday and Friday, shows begin at 7:30 pm; Saturday and Sunday, they begin at 2 pm.
