{"id":23775,"date":"2016-07-17T08:01:36","date_gmt":"2016-07-17T15:01:36","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/spijue.wpengine.com\/news\/douglas-island-neighborhood-association-will-meet-to-plan-party\/"},"modified":"2016-07-17T08:01:36","modified_gmt":"2016-07-17T15:01:36","slug":"douglas-island-neighborhood-association-will-meet-to-plan-party","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.juneauempire.com\/life\/douglas-island-neighborhood-association-will-meet-to-plan-party\/","title":{"rendered":"Douglas Island Neighborhood Association will meet to plan party"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Douglas Island Neighborhood Association will meet on Tuesday, July 19 at 6 p.m. to go over the agenda: planning a party.<\/p>\n<p>This party will be for all of Douglas \u2013 it\u2019s the fourth annual \u201c5th Street Block Party\u201d where the community comes together to celebrate life on the island with a bonfire, food and fun.<\/p>\n<p>The meeting should be kept to an hour, going over who will bring what, like food, firewood and music, and other arrangements.<\/p>\n<p>The party date, which has yet to be announced, will be on one of the Saturdays in August.<\/p>\n<p>Questions should be directed to Robert Sewell at 723-0147 and dinaalaska@gmail.com.<\/p>\n<p>The purpose of the Douglas Island Neighborhood Association is to serve as an independent voice for Douglas Island and as an organizing hub for activities and projects that benefit the island.<\/p>\n<p>The Douglas Island Neighborhood Association general membership meets at 6 p.m. the first Monday of every month at the Douglas Public Library.
