A seemingly intentional shooting Saturday morning left a trailer on Glacier Highway with damaged front window, according to the Juneau Police Department.<\/p>\n
Shortly after 8 a.m., police responded to reports of \u201cshots fired\u201d in the 13000 block of Glacier Highway. After searching the scene, JPD officers and an Alaska State Trooper found that somebody had fired through the front window of a mobile home near the Auke Bay Ferry Terminal.<\/p>\n
Two people were in the home at the time of the shooting, but they told police they didn\u2019t hear the shot that took out their window. JPD didn\u2019t name the home\u2019s occupants, a 41-year-old man and a 36-year-old woman. Neither the home\u2019s residents nor anybody else in the area was injured, according to police.<\/p>\n
JPD doesn\u2019t believe the shooting to be a \u201crandom act,\u201d meaning it\u2019s not something the public at large should worry about.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe believe that there is a connection between the shooter and the people living in the trailer,\u201d JPD\u2019s Sgt. Brian Dallas told the Empire in a phone interview Saturday afternoon. \u201cWe don\u2019t have somebody driving around and shooting up the town.\u201d<\/p>\n
Police don\u2019t yet have any suspects in the shooting nor do they know how many shooters were involved, Dallas said. They do know, however, that the shooter only shot the trailer one time.<\/p>\n
An investigation into the shooting is ongoing, and Dallas said JPD hopes to release more information Monday.<\/p>\n
