They are doing an outstanding job making sure Juneau has a place to play this winter. Once snow started falling, they hustled not just to open the hill but to do it a week early.<\/p>\n<p>Last weekend, they again got the lifts and area open early\u2014 Friday brought fresh snow, sunshine and lots of smiling skiers and riders.<\/p>\n<p>It takes work, logistics and staff flexibility to open a hill early; it\u2019s not the easy choice. We\u2019re fortunate to have lift operators, groomers, ski patrol and managers who go the extra mile to give our community a winter playground.<\/p>\n<p>Winter wasn\u2019t kind to Juneau last year, and the Eaglecrest staff may have been those who felt it most. And yet they\u2019re back at it with a smile this year, and doing a great job. We have a true community-oriented ski hill with a community-minded crew.
