Alaska’s Speaker of the House Bryce Edgmon will be speaking to the Alaska Native community Thursday about the state’s budget situation.<\/p>\n
Edgmon is the guest speaker at Thursday’s Native Issues Forum series, hosted by the Central Council of Tlingit & Haida Indian Tribes of Alaska. The presentation, focusing on the state’s fiscal situation, takes place at noon Thursday at Elizabeth Peratrovich Hall on Willoughby Avenue.<\/p>\n
The forum is scheduled to last an hour, and is part of a series of reports and presentations that address an array of important topics to the Native community. Edgmon, who is of Alaska Native ancestry, is a lifelong resident of Dillingham and has spoken quite a bit about the challenges of small fishing communities such as Dillingham.<\/p>\n
