Thunder Mountain High School named five students in their March student recognition.

English teacher Annmarie Janes nominated junior Jeanne Lin Muller.

“Jeanne Lin is a hard-working student who has increased her efforts even more this past semester,” Janes said. “I appreciate her tenacity in tackling the difficult AP English curriculum she is working with this year. I have watched Jeanne Lin’s writing and critical thinking skills improve significantly throughout the semester. But, more importantly, Jeanne Lin is always a kind, considerate and friendly person to be around.”

Counselor Phil Merrell nominated senior Honesty Zahnd.

“Honesty is a polite, hard-working, articulate young man who is also a proficient writer,” Merrell said. “Honesty is always respectful, and I have appreciated his quiet confidence and determination this year as a senior. He often works independently, and can be counted on to get things done. I am looking forward to Honesty continuing his studies in college and I am proud to have him represent Thunder Mountain High School.”

Math teacher Chris Peterson nominated senior Rikki Price.

“Rikki has overcome many obstacles throughout her four years at TMHS,” Peterson said. “As her math teacher, I’ve witnessed a dramatic improvement in her math skills despite the personal challenges she experiences with mathematical concepts. She’s also participated in numerous athletic activities, and begun preparing for her future beyond high school as a participant in the post secondary employment through the Pre-Employment Transition Program.”

English teacher Patrick Roach nominated freshman Daniela Fernandez.

“Daniela is one of my hardest working students and she is also one of the kindest,” Roach said. “She has a wonderful attitude and work ethic. She always comes to class with a smile. She is an example to all other students.”

School librarian Raandi Miller nominated Cameron Waisingham.

“Cameron is my student assistant for second semester,” Miller said. “His work ethic is amazing. Each day he comes in 2nd period and asks me what he can do to help. He asks questions to clarify the task so that he knows exactly what the job entails. Thank you Cameron for helping me, and in the process, the entire school, in the library.”

Cooking teacher Julie Herman nominated senior Gabby Palmer.

“She is an amazing help in class,” Herman said. “She has a great attitude and is willing to help wherever she can. I highly recommend her.”
