{"id":25836,"date":"2016-04-11T08:02:06","date_gmt":"2016-04-11T15:02:06","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/spijue.wpengine.com\/news\/community-discussion-planned-to-help-struggling-adolescents\/"},"modified":"2016-04-11T08:02:06","modified_gmt":"2016-04-11T15:02:06","slug":"community-discussion-planned-to-help-struggling-adolescents","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.juneauempire.com\/news\/community-discussion-planned-to-help-struggling-adolescents\/","title":{"rendered":"Community discussion planned to help struggling adolescents"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>An informal community discussion today called \u201cHelp and Hope\u201d will connect community members with services in and around Juneau for adolescents struggling with emotional or other behavioral issues.<\/p>\n<p>From 6-7:30 p.m. at Holy Trinity Church\u2019s McPhetres Hall, Kathryn Chapman, the executive director of Juneau\u2019s National Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependency, will speak with family members and friends of young adults battling difficult emotional states, dealing with anxiety, sadness, developmental deficiencies or drugs and alcohol issues.<\/p>\n<p>Also on hand will be Patricia Phelan, who has assisted families in Juneau and around the country in finding appropriate educational and\/or therapeutic settings for pre-adolescents to young adults with a wide variety of needs.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHelp and Hope\u201d is free of charge.
