George Gress started making custom guitars from Alaskan woods a year and a half ago and is just finishing up his 40th guitar. The Canvas will have 12 of his custom pieces on display all month long and Gress and his son Tyler, who has three albums, will play the reception.<\/p>\n

BOOK SIGNING: THE WAY OF QIGONG<\/p>\n

Internationally renowned Qigong and Tai Chi Grandmaster Ken Cohen will read from his new book \u201cThe Way of Qigong: The Art and Science of Chinese Energy Healing\u201d at Rainforest Yoga. His work has been sponsored by the American Cancer Society, the Mayo Clinic, Health Canada and numerous medical schools.<\/p>\n

Cohen will speak about his book at 5:30 p.m. and a signing will take place at 6:30 p.m.<\/p>\n

GCI will be featuring the photography of Tamara Roberts, a 3-year resident of Juneau. Her interest in photography began with a job at Sears Portrait studio in Fairbanks, and her passion has continued through studio and portrait work for the past 22 years. Upon moving to Juneau, her vision turned to wildlife, including whales and eagles, who now have her artistic heart. Her show is entitled: Fin, fur, and feathered friends. Come by and visit with Tamara and see how she\u2019s captured the wild spirit of Southeast Alaska.<\/p>\n
