{"id":26159,"date":"2016-08-16T20:17:39","date_gmt":"2016-08-17T03:17:39","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/spijue.wpengine.com\/news\/57-year-old-inmate-at-kenai-center-dies\/"},"modified":"2016-08-16T20:17:39","modified_gmt":"2016-08-17T03:17:39","slug":"57-year-old-inmate-at-kenai-center-dies","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.juneauempire.com\/news\/57-year-old-inmate-at-kenai-center-dies\/","title":{"rendered":"57-year-old inmate at Kenai center dies"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>ANCHORAGE \u2014 <\/strong>State corrections officials say a 57-year-old inmate at a Kenai facility has died.<\/p>\n<p>Michael Talcott was found unresponsive in a cell at the Wildwood Correctional Center about 4 p.m. Sunday and was pronounced dead 48 minutes later after attempts to revive him failed.<\/p>\n<p>Officials in a news release said there were no obvious signs of trauma on his body, and he wasn\u2019t currently under medical treatment.<\/p>\n<p>Talcott was serving a 20-year sentence for sexual assault of a minor, and had been in custody since 2008.<\/p>\n<p>Officials review every prisoner death, and the correction department\u2019s Professional Conduct Unit will investigate Talcott\u2019s death.<\/p>\n<p>He\u2019s the seventh inmate to die this year.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>ANCHORAGE \u2014 State corrections officials say a 57-year-old inmate at a Kenai facility has died.
