The topic this year is &ldquo;Our Sacred Waters,&rdquo; and CCTHITA will show the documentary <a href=\"https:\/\/awakethefilm.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">&ldquo;Awake, A Dream from Standing Rock,&rdquo;<\/a> about the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe&rsquo;s resistance of the Dakota Access Pipeline in North Dakota.<\/p>\n<p>The event will close with CCTHITA President Richard Peterson speaking about the organization&rsquo;s activities in relation to transboundary mines, including signing a petition to ask Secretary of Commerce Wilbur Ross to investigate transboundary mines in British Columbia. CCTHITA&rsquo;s Native Lands &#38;Resources Department will also give an update on its baseline water quality testing studies in the Stikine, Unuk, Taku and Alsek rivers.<\/p>\n<p>Admission is free, and snacks and refreshments will be provided.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Tonight is all about movies and mining at Elizabeth Peratrovich Hall.
