Perseverance Theater is hosting a variety of events around its production \u201cOur Voices Will Be Heard\u201d this week, a play about a mother\u2019s and daughter\u2019s journey that reveals how generations face the choice of continuing to perpetuate or disrupt family violence.<\/p>\n
Today there will be \u201cHealing Through Storytelling Art Workshop\u201d at the Mendenhall Valley Public Library\u2019s large meeting room. This event is free. Tlingit and Dena\u2019ina artist Vera Starbard will lead the workshop in how to use storytelling for healing.<\/p>\n
Monday, Jan. 25, there will be a reading of \u201cStalking the Bogeyman\u201d with playwright David Holthouse with a post-show discussion at 7 p.m. on Perseverance\u2019s main stage. This is a pay-as-you-can event.<\/p>\n
On Tuesday, Jan. 26 there will be a forum on @360 at KTOO studios with Vera Starbard and David Holthouse at 5 p.m.<\/p>\n
There will be a reading of \u201cAssimilation\u201d by playwright Jack Dalton with post-show discussion at Perseverance\u2019s main stage on Feb. 1 at 7 p.m.<\/p>\n
There will be another \u201cHealing Through Storytelling\u201d post show open discussion on Feb. 3.<\/p>\n
