Coming off a 52-0 rout of Nikiski and earning their highest ever ranking in the Alaska Sports Broadcasting Network polls this week, Thunder Mountain (2-0) is riding high. The Falcons return home this week for a 7 p.m. Friday matchup with Kenai Central (0-2) at the Thunderdome. It will be the Falcons\u2019 first home game of the season.<\/p>\n
TMHS trails only state powerhouse Soldotna (2-0) in the small\/medium school polls. The Falcons are surging this season with wins over Juneau-Douglas High School (0-2) and Nikiski earning them enough respect to be put in the same conversation as Soldotna, who ride a state record 41-game win streak.<\/p>\n
Kenai Central fell last week to Service 46-13 and isn\u2019t ranked in the ASBN polls.<\/p>\n
JDHS travels to Ketchikan this week for a Saturday matchup with the Kayhi Kings.<\/p>\n
The Empire online will host a live-stream of the Falcons-Kardinals game in partnership with the University of Alaska Southeast and Archipelago Webcasting. The game can be viewed for free on desktop computers, smartphones and tablets at juneauempire.com.<\/p>\n

JDHS, TMHS volleyball start season<\/strong><\/p>\n Both the Falcons and the Crimson Bears serve up their first volleyball action of the year this weekend with a jamboree at Thunder Mountain High School. Mount Edgecumbe High School and Ketchikan High School made the trip up to participate in the round robin.<\/p>\n Friday games are 4:30-8:30 p.m; Saturday games are from 12-5 p.m.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
