Team HB 75, with Rep. Geran Tarr among its members, earned honors as the top-scoring team from the Alaska House of Representatives in last weekend’s 21st annual Legislative Shoot.<\/p>\n
Results were released Tuesday<\/a> by the Alaska Correctional Officers Association, which co-hosted the event Saturday at the Juneau Gun Club.<\/p>\n House Bill <\/a>75<\/a>, introduced by Tarr (D-Anchorage) last year, is the sole gun control measure to advance in the Alaska Legislature since a shooting at a high school in Florida killed 17 <\/a>people<\/a>. HB 75 remains under consideration in the House Judiciary Committee.<\/p>\n Team HB 75 scored 447 points in the four-event contest, but top honors overall went to Team Majority Arms, which scored 543 points.<\/p>\n Majority Arms includes Sen. Peter Micciche, R-Soldotna; deputy department of Revenue commissioner Jerry Burnett and legislative staffer Matt Gruening.<\/p>\n In addition to having the top overall score for a legislative team, Majority Arms had the top score for an Alaska Senate team.
